Childhood memories of taking a whiff of her dad’s gin and tonic is the inspiration for this juniper and quinine olive oil by our oil maker. A ‘glass in the hand’ and a plate of dry meat curry or spicy fried fish is a family tradition and this is her homage to her dad, and to the simpler days of her youth when this practice was what the weekends were all about for many hard working dads, including her own. This remains a family tradition to this day. Gin and tonic is our oil makers choice of drink which can now be served with a drop of G&T olive oil.
How to use Lot Eight G&T olive oil:
Juniper is commonly used with lamb and is particularly good with venison, pork and duck. Lot Eight G&T olive oil has hints of pine, Japanese Sancho pepper and green Sichuan pepper. The G&T olive oil can be added to a sauce or marinade before adding it to a dish. Alternatively try it as a drizzle over grilled lamb or grilled venison, venison or beef tartare, or oily fish crudo such as salmon and mackerel. We also recommend that you save a drop for your next gin cocktail.
